One of the Rome Hash Patron Saints, Cums in Quarts, holds the HOSCAR.
The Rome Hash House Harriers award the "HOSCAR" trophy annually at the Christmas Hash to the Rome Hasher or Harriette who has contributed the most to the Rome Hash during the year.
We are delighted to have it and award it - but the HOSCAR is truly a mystery! No one seems to recall where it came from or that the Rome Hash had it in the first place. It showed up at the Ides of March in 2010 from Naples, brought by the then GM of Bella Napoli H3, (Spit!) Nigel Wren.
The inscription on the front of the HOSCAR reads:
"ROME H3 HOSCAR HASHER/HARRIETTE OF THE YEAR"
The inscription on the back, after the HOSCAR's vacation in Napoli reads:
"After a grand vacation to Napoli, with many fine adventures and tall tales to spin, alas, I have had to return to Rome and RH3. Now when can I go back to Napoli and Hash with the best Hash in Italy, the BNH3!"
So go for it, Rome Hashers! Any one of you might win the HOSCAR!
